Suya Suya Record Paper (1)

前々回のM3で配布した、M3ごめんなさいペーパーを公開します。
長いので前後編の分けます。

Abstract

A novel concept for intermediate expression in electronic music was proposed and preliminary results were released.
Suya suya record was established to produce and release the pieces with ambiguous orientation and internal
concept. A compact disc with a diameter of 8 cm was adopted as a media and Logic pro was used for digital audio
workstation. Every release form suya suya record has particular design thought from the aspect of literature, place,
and material. In this paper, a conceptual design of the label and four releases from suya suya record were introduced.

1. Introduction
”Suya suya” is a Japanese echoic word represents a
quiet sleep-breath. Suya suya record (suyarec for short)
was launched in the spring of 2013 aspiring intermediate
expression of grand narratives and little narratives in
the form of electronic music. A 8cm diameter compact
disc was adopted as release media. Bandcamp[1] and
M3 (Music Media-mix Market)[2] were selected as the
area for major activity.

2. General Theory
Every release from suyarec bases on a particular literature
and scenery in esse. Additionally, color of the
pieces related with some materials relevant to a subject.
Originally, a set of six releases was inspired by ”La biblioteca
de Babel”[3]. However, the strictness of the initial
concept was moderated in order to realize desirable
musical composition. Every release corresponds to the
personal form of expression and independent trial implementation
of desk top music.

3. Apparatus
The equipments used in each release were di erent
piece by piece. In common, a Mac Book Pro 13 inch and
a Mac Book Air 11 inch were used as host computer and
Logic Pro was adopted as a digital audio workstation.
The tracks were mastered by Waveburner software and
pressed to a compact disk with a diameter of 8 cm.
